The Lane Family - Pinetop Arizona Family Photographer
I was so excited to photograph this gorgeous family. They came in from out of town where the weather is almost always triple digits and were just so happy to be up in the beautiful mountains. Little Mr. C just turned 1 year old last week so they wanted to get some family pictures and some fun shots of him as well. Here are some of my favorites:

Here is a family studio session from earlier this week. Sara is a friend that works in the office next door and we have been "talking" about doing a shoot with her and her kids for some time and we were finally able to nail down a date for a shoot. The fall is always a fun time because I get alot of phone calls from friends to do their "Christmas Card Pictures" . I like the chance to meet new people and in this case catch up with old friends. Here are the Tarwaters and a few of my favorites from the session:

Brandon is another buddy of mine that I went to high school with. We did these a few weeks ago and I just finished up the images this evening.

The Joncas Family
Depending on how long you've followed my blog you might recognize these guys. I did family pictures for them early in 2008 . I grew up with Heidi and love to see how her cute little family is growing.
The Bloomers
The Bloomer kids all got organized for a big family photoshoot as part of a gift for Grandma and grandpa.
One of the things that makes me most nervous in photography is a group of kids. You never know what they are going to be like and sometimes I know they are looking at me thinking "I dare you to make me smile,'cameraboy'!"
But these lil guys were great and I was thrilled that we got all of them to look at the camera at the same time.
All the grandkids:
I'm thinking about writing a book about the ethical dilemma of letting kids fall while I'm photographing them (look down a couple posts on my blog, same kinda shot in almost the exact same place with a different family).

The K Family. Freestone Park, Gilbert, Arizona Family Photographerr
Meet the K, family.
We went out to Freestone the other week and got some great fall family portraits done.
This inevitably happens with little guys in this age range where they can absolutely sit up on their own but if you put them on slope they don't quite have the balance to stay upright. And herein lies my dilemma: I am within an arms reach and the closest person to him. Do I do the humane thing and reach out and grab him? or do I keep my face behind the camera and capture the fall. The photographer beat out the humanitarian in this case and decided to capture the fall.

Take a look at this cute little family session I did a couple weeks ago while I was up in the White Mountains a couple weeks ago. I'm absolutely thrilled anytime I get the opportunity to do work up in Pinetop especially during the summers when it's so darn hot here in the Phoenix metro.

The Belnaps are friends of my family up in Pinetop. We took advantage of my trip up there for the wedding a couple weeks ago to get some family pictures done while I was in town.

When big brother got done posing along side this tree, little brother propped himself up there all on his own posing the same way...it was pretty stinkin cute!
This last image was my favorite because it's a little different setup than what I usually look for but I really like how the hard sunlight from the back creates a rim and almost frames the family.
